Friday Night Sessions @ California Plaza Presents:
Robotanists
BoxViolet
Downtown/Union
American Primitive
Friday Nights Sessions is a free concert series held on the 2nd Friday of every month. California Plaza is one of Los Angeles' most unique and picturesque areas to see a concert. Bring a bottle of wine and sip it under the stars or have a drink at the adjacent Casa Cantina, all while listening to some of L.A.s best emerging indie bands.
Flavorpill writes:
"If there is such a thing as a formula to LA's culture of the moment, it might look like this: warm nights + outdoor venues + free tickets + local buzz bands. Friday Night Sessions takes over Downtown's Cal Plaza once a month and brings you what they like to call "pre-Coachella" next-big-thing lineups, and they've got a pretty good track record to back that up. This month stars the Robotanists, a progressive shoegaze quartet with a great EP and a way of smoothing out party rough spots."

In their lastest album, they cover several popular tunes that most of you will find familiar. Their original work is equally impressive. -Rolando

I will be there. But I just tried to use the address above to map the location. (Which is funny, cuz I've been to Casa before...) And it brings up a residential neighborhood in San Pedro.
So, I think you have the wrong zip code. Just don't anyone to end up at my Nana's house in S.P. expecting to rock out. :-)
UPDATE: see "How to meet us" section.
Regarding Picnic setup. No red wine! White only due to ground stains. You can bring beer or any other beverage and food.
I can help you find a place to sit or direct you towards other meetup members at the venue but I myself will be working/bouncing around making sure the bands, sound, venue is going well.
